Barrington Court NT

What a wonderful day at Barrington Court.  The weather was perfect with blue skies, a dash of light white cloud and a slight breeze, all of which contributed to the most vibrant colour in the gardens… well it was just one of those perfect days.  Words cannot effectively describe what we found there, I will let my photos do the talking.  So without further ado let the pictures roll……

On the Street in Bath UK

These images reinforce the old adage “Always take your camera.”  Having found myself in Bath city centre with a couple of hours to spare I grabbed a cup of coffee and settled back to “people watch.”  Here are a few of the images I captured:

Templecombe Medieval Pageant 2013

What a pageant! Reenactment with a passion

A weekend of things to do and see including stalls selling a wide variety of themed goods, places to eat and drink (real Somerset cider), falconry displays both in the main ring and static, jousting, as well displays of sword combat and of course, a battle re-enactment.  A jester named Fiery Jack was in attendance. His wit, humour and juggling skills proved a great hit with all age groups. Musician Frances Eustace gave a real medieval feeling to the proceedings performing on pipes, tabor and fife during the Pageant.

The high spot of each day was the Battle of Templecombe where the Duke of Somerset’s men stormed the castle being held by Jacques de Molay who was the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar.
