Falconer Display

Falconer displays are always very popular, non more so than those of  Tony Bryant  (Raptorcare).  These images are some of those taken at the recent display at the Templecombe Medieval Pageant.

Templecombe Medieval Pageant 2013

What a pageant! Reenactment with a passion

A weekend of things to do and see including stalls selling a wide variety of themed goods, places to eat and drink (real Somerset cider), falconry displays both in the main ring and static, jousting, as well displays of sword combat and of course, a battle re-enactment.  A jester named Fiery Jack was in attendance. His wit, humour and juggling skills proved a great hit with all age groups. Musician Frances Eustace gave a real medieval feeling to the proceedings performing on pipes, tabor and fife during the Pageant.

The high spot of each day was the Battle of Templecombe where the Duke of Somerset’s men stormed the castle being held by Jacques de Molay who was the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar.

Dorset County Show 2011

The Dorset County Show was held this weekend and what a show it was!  The show was a full-on entertainment bonanza for all ages.  Vintage Tractors, Hound parades, Dog Agility, Axeman, Wolf-man, Falconry, an enormous inflatable slide and a fair were just a few of the many attractions.  The two events in the main arena that caused the most oohs and aars were the Scurry Racing and the Bolddog Lings FMX Team.  I have posted a few taster images for you to see.
